So much has changed!

Caitlin just turned a year old last week, I can't believe it has been a year already! She had a great party, not the turnout I was expecting but she had her Nana and Gramps, Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt Michelle with Uncle Norbert and Nathan, Aunt Colleen with David and Zack and ofcourse me. She wasn't too impressed with the cake but then again, she was tired and hungry and still sometimes wants her bottle to fill her belly but we are doing better with that. She only gets a bottle at bedtime and first thing in the morning. She is on straight table food and is loving it. She is walking 100% of the time now and is really good at it, trying to run now. She is still climbing anything she can get onto. She says mama, dada, yes or yeah, bye, and the rest is still mostly unrecognizable but sometimes sounds like an actual word. She is up to 18lbs now and 30 inches long, she is gonna pass mama up! She got tubes in her ears a couple of weeks ago and did great.
Her daddy is still in texas for a bit longer, he will get a week at home before heading to new york. He is looking into voluntary deployment so we don't have to move and then he gets deployed anyway. We will see what decision he makes.
That is about it! If I forgot anything and I will try to get back on and update!

Haven't updated in a while!

Ok, I haven't updated anything in a while, I've just been too busy.
Caitlin has a tooth now and is cruising along the furniture. She gets into everything now, I can only imagine what she will be like when she starts walking!!! I can't wait!
I am going down to part time at work, the stress is just too much. The details aren't worked out yet but we will get that all lined up Monday. I am having some tests done on the 4th, they think it is my thyroid.
Bentley is in Texas now and will be starting AIT in another week or so. Hopefully we can visit soon.

The Army

I can't believe he actually did it. I really was thinking he would just back out at the last minute and beg for his job back or find something else locally. I am soo sick right now! I hate that by the time he gets back Caitlin won't know her father. He will come back to a toddler, she will be walking, talking, and will probably look a lot different than she does now. All I can do is use pictures of him and keep telling her "that's dada." I really hope she remembers him and I really hope he can come home inbetween basic and ait. We really don't know if that will happen or not and even if it does he will only be home for 1 or 2 days at the most. So, he is off to basic. I can't tell you the feeling when I saw that truck pull up. I felt like it was a herse (sp?) to take my husband away. I don't know what to think right now, I am just devistated. I know we will get through this but I am sure I don't know just how hard it will be. I am going to try to go to bed (as you notice it is still very early in the morning) and get some rest so I can be there for my daughter, I am the only one she has right now. I will update everyone when I have information.

Update!

Caitlin has been making leaps and bounds with her development in the last 2 weeks!!! She can now sit unassisted for a pretty good while and catches herself most of the time. She also is trying soo hard to crawl. She can almost do it! She gets her legs going but can't get her hands going at the same time, but she just drags herself around on her tummy. She is really vocal now with shreaks and sounds. She is also eating more and more foods, she just tried her first french fry yesterday and she was really not sure about it! It was really funny!!!
She is loving her new daycare. They go outside almost every day, they let her move around the room, they use paint, they have all kinds of developmental toys to increase her hand eye coordination as well as to get her moving quicker! I love it too, the only problem is the hours but we are working around it just so Caitlin can be there!
She is currently getting over an ear infection and uti. We ended up in the ER a week ago when her fever just wouldn't stay down and she was acting wierd, we had already been to the doctor's office about the fever and they said she had a double ear infection so we started the antibiotics but because of the uti her temp kept going back up. At the ER they did all kinds of tests and she ended up with an IV of fluids with antibiotics to get her jump started to get better. She was soo upset at the hospital because she just wanted to go to sleep but they kept coming in doing tests, poor thing. We were there from around 6:30pm till 1am. It was exausting but I am glad we got her looked at! She is back to her old self again but doesn't like taking her antibiotics so we put it in her bottle! LOL, she doesn't even realize it is in there!
She will have her 6 month appointment at almost 7 months due to postponing it so she can get over all this stuff before getting shots. I will update more then!

I'm a Blogger Drop-out!

I really meant to do this once a week but it has gotten away from me!

Ok, Caitlin will be 6 months old in 6 days! She eats green beans, carrots, applesauce, and now bananas. She rolls to get to things she wants and can almost sit up on her own. She has been very talkative today and her laugh is helarious (not the squeeking--the full belly laugh). She will be starting her new daycare on her 6 month bday! I am soo excited!!!!

Oh, she is now 13 1/2 lbs now and is chewing on everything!

Her first cold!

Well, Caitlin has her first cold. It started with occasional coughing but over a couple of days it got worse so in we went to the pediatricians. The pediatrician said it was just from congestion/draining and that she didn't need any meds. Well, two days later I have strep throat and her cough is worse!!! I am now on antibiotics and she has cough medicine which seems to be helping, her coughing doesn't sound as bad now. It does make her sleepy though but atleast that will give her body a chance to work on getting rid of the cold. She has been in pretty good spirits throughout with the occasional fussiness. Hopefully we are both on the down hill of being sick and will be better soon!!!

Oh, and in two weeks Caitlin has her 4 month appointment and the pediatrician will tell us what foods to start!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am soo excited but I feel she is still soo little! I know she is ready, she is a good eater and I am sure she will enjoy new tastes!!!

Sorry I haven't blogged again!

I have been soo busy I haven't had a chance to blog!!! Well, a week ago we had an ice storm--horrible!!! Our fence is still busted up and the dogs can't go outside alone so that has been interesting.

Caitlin is in love with her bumbo seat! She absolutely loves it! I don't think she understands how she can sit up and see mommy at the same time, she just sits and watches the dogs running around!

I have two interviews tomorrow, hoping I do well!!!
Other than that it has just been work, work, work!

Another Formula Change!

The pediatrician has suggested another formula change(to alimentum) since Caitlin now refuses her acid reflux medicine. I would think we would be told to use a formula that is specifically for reflux??? I don't know. All I know is this will be formula #4.

I am back at work now and am exausted but happy when I get any time to spend with Caitlin.

Friday, February 1, 2008

Well, I am just starting this so we will see how it goes!!! I am hoping to be able to keep everyone updated atleast once a week with how Caitlin is doing!

Right now she is doing great. She is on a medication for acid reflux--a very messy issue but we are working on it! She is sleeping through the night on a regular basis, which helps with our sanity a lot!!! She smiles a lot and likes to jabber. She has already doubled her birth weight--in less than three months!!!!!!!! Needless to say, she likes to eat! She is on nutramigen. It is one of the most expensive formulas out there but she is sleeping better so I guess it is worth it!
